However, it fails to address the vital & integral role the SA Independent Production sector, major suppliers of content to the SABC.<BR/><BR/>Local content regulations via ICASA <BR/>are a mandatory pre requisite for the broadcasting licence of the SABC and as a consequence the programming policy of the SABC is supposed to give a voice and inform and articulate across the genres of factual programming,<BR/>drama,information, education and also reflect the condition, dreams and aspirations of our society.<BR/><BR/>The implementation of programming<BR/>policy by the SABC has and continues, to be bedeviled by key unresolved issues of Ownership of Intellectual Property & unacceptable business practices.<BR/><BR/>Therefore in the spirit of Freedom Of Expression, Mr. Duncan must be challenged to examine the relationship between the SA Independent Production Sector and the SABC and in offering up solutions, come to the obvious conclusion that members of this sector be appointed to the board of the SABC.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
